New year, new President, new mindset....!

There has been so much talk in our community about the inauguration and who is delivering the invocation.

I just want to say that I am thrilled we will have President Obama leading us and as long as we stop political torture, the wars and close Guantanamo I don't really care who prays at the inauguration. It would be pretty near to impossible to find anyone we all agree on.

Change is difficult for the straight people, we have come so far though, way farther than I ever thought would happen in my lifetime. I think we will continue to move forward, just not as fast as we want to.

I would rather the United States of America be a secular state and have no prayer at all in politics (of course)...but I think we need to give Obama the benefit of the doubt and see what happens.

We need UNITY and PEACE.

One day, back in 1998 my housemates and I heard of a dog who had been abandoned by her owners and was about to be put down. Ahndi and Uncle Tracy stole her that night, brought her back to Casa de Estrogen and named her Macarena and Cheese.

Somehow, in all the Lesbian madness, she chose me for her Mommie (I suspect my window AC unit, she loves the cold). Over the years she has been passed around from Dyke to Dyke and finally in her old age to me. I could not be more proud and happy to have her.

She is the sweetest, most spoiled doggie ever. She used to escape the yard all the time, but old age has put a stop to that. She ended up in a cage 2 miles from us and when I picked her up we decided no more.

This Saturday we have to go to the vet for her hips, she is having trouble getting up and down. She will be getting a geriatric check up. I hope they can give her arthritis medicine so she will not be in pain for a while longer. I know I am selfish in wanting to keep her around.

Eleven is old for a large dog, I worry.

One of my friends at work Keith who tours with Cheap Trick on drums turned me on to this.

I love it! Especially the smashing the guitars part!

I am thrilled that Obama will be our next President for so so so many reasons... but I think the biggest one is that he is against torture and against holding people in secret prisons with no trial.

I admit I am still nervous that it will somehow be pulled out from under us and am looking forward to the Inauguration so I can relax.

My surgery went well and everything is working as it should. YEAY!
I am back at work as of yesterday. Working on our next round of auditions.

I am so behind reading posts and way too bust at work to get to them right now...hopefully this weekend.

After 3.5 hours of tests, I am thrilled to announce that the lump is nothing to worry about!

The doctor appointment went well I thought. We discussed a number of things. I am waiting for test results next week.

I have a urologist visit scheduled for early August and a sleep study end of the month. I am awaiting the scheduling of my mammogram and whatever other tests the doc says I need. I got a pneumonia vaccine that hurts like hell, but not as much as...well...getting pneumonia.

She did mention the words "colon cancer" at one point, but I suspect IBS. Sigh.

Boundless joy. Middle age is grand.

I am so thankful for Mr. Cynthia, our home, our babies and our friends.

I will be back at the end of next week.
